Where is the professionalism??? And professional ethics???
I believe signing of any MOU to restrict the appointments of persons belonging to any particular institute is against the professionalism and also against the law and basic human rights. Such MOU may be challenged and could be easily defended in court. Good organizations always discourage this type of unprofessional attitude
Qualified CMA with four years of industry experience is equal to a CA with four years auditing experience. Based on the experience and skills CMA can work at any position CEO/CFO/company secretary/costing budgeting and finance/internal auditor/tax professional etc. No one can restrict CMA to work only in costing and budgeting area.
Based on qualification, skills and experience every individual should have equal opportunities at work place. No matter from which institute he belongs.
Good and bad people are everywhere and no institute can claim producing 100%
Perfect professional. There are many cases ICAP penalized its members involved in professional misconduct and unprofessional and immoral activities.
Unprofessional behavior is also being observed at work place especially from CA from big four firms. Some CA from big four firms have particular kind of unprofessional attitude for CMA and CA from small firms. Using there position in organization they try to exploit other professionals in organizations and try to limit the opportunities for advancements for them especially in local companies.
Also in a recent TV talk show behavior of a senior CA member belonging to largest CA firm in Pakistan has raised question mark on professionalism in Pakistan.
I have following suggestion to overcome the issue
1) There should be MOU between ICAP and ICMAP to promote professionalism in Pakistan and to discourage discrimination at workplace.
2) There should be ICAP/ICMAP Joint committee to promote professionalism and harmony among the members.
3) Arrangements of workshop/seminar on professional ethics to promote respect among the members of professional institutes.
4) All members of ICMAP/ICAP should be advised to discourage discrimination and unprofessional practices at workplace.
Last but not least " RIZQ aur izzat dene wala sirf Allah ki zaat haey"
Allah gives RIZQ to everyone and without considering the professional status degree or education level. Many uneducated persons are getting money higher than the professionals.

Dear Mohsin
First of all whenever we started to discuss any topic we should discuss it with open mind approach and with professional ethics in mind. Question can be of any type whether mature or immature. . .Ok ? ? ? ? ?
I have enormous experience in the field. Now a days it is very prevailing and hot topic to launch criticism on CAs and members forgot that CMAs have different field of competencies and instead to compete with CMA (UK) we started to compare with CA. . . In UK I didnt see any type of comparison made by CMA with CA. We are claiming right to do cost audits instead to focus on the core competencies of CMAs that is management role in costing, budgeting etc.
CAs are now competing us in the field of management role of organization and what are we doing ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Most of the big organizations are now hiring CAs for their budgeting, management reporting, and financial analyst activities
Pakistan law already had given right to do cost audits to CAMs there are no restrictions on it. CMAs can conduct cost audit . . . . . Public limited company will not put their trust CMAs on cost audit they will always go for big reputable Audit firms that we are lacking. We are talking about big organizations for cost audit, now these organizations are restricting even their management jobs to only CAs & ACCAs. They signed many MOUs with them. What we are doing for members here ?
There is one news i want to share., . . . i hope you are aware of it. . .ICAP now not consider CMAs eligible to claim exemptions in the paper of audit. . . and it is approved. What action did we take on the ICMAP's directorate level ? ? ? ? nothing . . . .

Before making any comment on the raised issue . . I want to ask one question from you and all who are interested.
Can any one tell me how many Cost Audit Firm do we have in Pakistan registered with ICMAP ?
ICAP have more than 500 CA firms (who obtained practicing certificate from ICAP) . . .
Your answer is more valuable to me
